There are lots of articles on what grounding is...you can do some exploring on your own for this topic. I'm not an expert on what grounding is or is not, all I know is that I am much more apt to notice when I'm NOT grounded than when I am. And yep...I'm working on it. Grounding for me is sort of like feeling mentally centered but on a much deeper, physical level. You might feel like your mind is calm when you're centered, but your whole body will feel drawn down and squared with the earth when you're grounded. Grounded is good.
One oil I use almost every day is called Balance. It's known as doTERRA's "grounding blend". It's a lovely blend of Spruce Leaf, Ho Wood Leaf, Frankincense Resin, Blue Tansy Flower, Blue Chamomile Flower, and Osmanthus Flower essential oils in a base of Fractionated Coconut Oil. I put it on my feet most mornings to help keep me in that deep centered space of calm.
I also highly recommend this oil for the grounding body scan below. You can dilute it with some fractionated coconut oil before applying. My favorite places to put it are:
1-Soles of the feet
2-Heart Chakra
3- Shoulders (with a little Cedarwood--but that's another story)
Don't worry if you don't have these oils, you can still get plenty grounded with this guided scan.
Try this grounding body scan when you're feeling mentally drained or scattered.
